With baseball’s long-awaited Opening Day at last on the horizon, Miller Lite is celebrating fans who have been salivating for the return of live sports, even in a time of social distancing.
While fans won’t be able to attend Major League Baseball games this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Miller Lite is partnering with six clubs to give away a pair of stadium seats to deserving fans who root for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates. It’s the beer brand’s way of bringing the ballpark – or part of it, at least – to fans’ homes this season. The seats, identical to those in the teams’ home ballparks, will be delivered to the winners’ homes.
Beginning today and extending through July 27, superfans can be nominated to win a pair of stadium seats, along with a supply of Miller Lite, a custom cooler and a bundle of team swag. The winners, one in each market, will be announced August 5.
“We’ve all missed baseball this season, rooting for our favorite teams and making memories with our friends and loved ones,” says Carol Krienik, associate marketing manager for Miller Lite. “Miller Time is all about making connections and celebrating meaningful relationships, and we can’t wait to celebrate fans who deserve a little recognition.”
Fans can send an email to bestseat@millerlite.com, and explain in 150 words or fewer why the person they’re nominating deserves the best seat in the house, as well as a photo of the nominee. Nominees must be age 21 or over.
“We want to hear about the fan who has never missed a game before this season, or the health care worker who deserves some joy, or the fan whose team has made a meaningful mark on his or her life in some way,” says Krienik. “The Best Seat in the House promotion is a good representation of how our new normal can still be just as special and just as meaningful, even without going to baseball games.
“These cities and teams have a strong Miller Lite presence, both in the stadium and beyond. It’s always great to go to cities where Miller Lite is loved and where there are passionate fans,” she says.
